The Secretary General of the Turkic Council H.E.Baghdad Amreyev visited the administrative center of Turkestan region of Kazakhstan- Turkestan city.
During the visit, Secretary General met with Akim of Turkestan region, Umirzak Shukeyev.
The Head of the region briefed the Secretary General in details on the ongoing progress of the construction of urban transport and socio-cultural, administrative and housing infrastructure of the city.
U. Shukeyev expressed appreciation of the residents of the region to the leaders of Turkic speaking states for their attention and support to the city.
B.Amreev highly praised the tremendous achievements in the construction of the modern city on the sacred place for all Turkic nations. He stated that "the new look of the ancient Turkestan," as well as the holding of a complex of cultura and historical events dedicated to the 1500th anniversary of the city are the integral part of the efforts for transforming Turkestan into “the spiritual capital of the Turkic World“.
