The Turkic Council delegation participated in the 7th United Nations World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) Silk Road Tour Operators Forum held on 8 March 2018 in Berlin within the framework of the ITB Tourism Trade Fair.

During the Forum, Turkic Council Project Director Pelin Musabay Baki made a presentation on the contribution of the Turkic Council Modern Silk Road Joint Tour Package to the Silk Road tourism. After giving general information about the package, Project Director Baki added that the stated initiative, which was also mentioned as a case study in the related UN reports, brings together the Member States of the Turkic Council under the aegis of tourism and strengthens the role of the Silk Road tourism. In addition, some tour operators, members of the Consortium of the Turkic Council Modern Silk Road Joint Tour Package, made their presentations during the forum.

On the other hand, Turkic Council Deputy Secretary General Dr. Ömer Kocaman and Project Directors Pelin Musabay Baki and Zhanar Nugumanova visited tour operators, the Consortium members, participating in the ITB. In the course of the visits, Deputy Secretary General Kocaman met with Ambassador of the Republic of Kazakhstan to Berlin Bolat Nusupov, Vice President of National Company "Kazakh Tourism" Kayrat Saduakasov, Ambassador of the Kyrgyz Republic to Berlin Erines Otorbaev and Deputy Minister of Culture, Tourism and Information of the Kyrgyz Republic Azamat Jamankulov. Deputy Secretary General Kocaman informed the counterparts about the promotion strategy of the Turkic Council Modern Silk Road Joint Tour Package in Europe.
