The Project Director Mehmet Şefik Yurtçiçek and Research Expert Dastan Almen attended the conference entitled "International Migration and Diplomacy" co-organized by Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Center for Strategic Research (SAM) and Koç University Migration Research Center (MiReKoc) on 18 May 2016 in Istanbul.
The conference started with opening statements by President of Koç University Umran S. İnan, SAM Chairman Ali Resul Usul and Deputy Minister Ambassador Naci Koru.
After the opening remarks, three sessions with the participation of various academicians and experts in the field were held on the topics such as "Migration Diplomacy in the EU-Turkey Relations", "Migration Governance between International Relations and Public Policy" and "Border Crossings in Foreign Policy".
