TIR/TIR-EPD prioritisation was launched at the Dostuk border checkpoint of Kyrgyzstan on 5 October 2023 as a result of collaborative efforts between the Organization of Turkic States (OTS), the International Road Transport Union (IRU) and the State Customs Service of the Kyrgyz Republic.
During the Samarkand Summit of the OTS held on 12 November 2022, the Presidents supported the efforts aimed at the digitalization of transport and transit procedures and commended the extension of the digital TIR project among Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan, and the establishment of green lanes at the border crossing points for the TIR digitalisation. The Presidents instructed to continue joint activities on regional integration through further application of digital tools in customs.
In this regard, this significant stride toward digitalization contributes substantially to fostering good neighbourly relations among the Member States and plays a pivotal role in developing and expanding transport connections among the Turkic countries and stimulating regional trade.
