Head of the Turkic Council International Election Observer Mission Deputy Secretary General of the Turkic Council Dr. Ömer Kocaman and the Head of the TurkPA Mission, Member of the Turkish Grand National Assembly Haluk Ipek, Secretary General of TurkPA Altynbek Mamayussupov, Turkish Ambassador Metin Kılıç, as well as the representative of the Central Election Commission of Kazakhstan Naziya Telmukhammedova shared the outcomes of their Missions’ on the Early Presidential Election of the Republic of Azerbaijan during the press conference on 12 April 2018 in Baku at Hilton Hotel.
Upon invitation of the Republic of Azerbaijan to monitor the Early Presidential Election of Azerbaijan, Turkic Council International Election Observer Mission executed its activities on 5-12 April 2018.
The Mission, which is composed of the Turkic Council Secretariat staff members, representatives of the Member States other than Azerbaijan as well as a representative from the Turkic Academy performed its election observer activities in Baku and Sheki.
Deputy Secretary General Kocaman evaluated the election process and shared the mission’s findings with respect to the pre-election process and the Election Day. The report that will be prepared by the Secretariat based on the findings of the Mission will be conveyed to the Member States as well as to some relevant international organizations.
At the press conference, which was attended by a number of national and international media outlets, Deputy Secretary General expressed his wish that the election results would bring more peace, stability and prosperity to the Republic of Azerbaijan and the brotherly people of Azerbaijan. He also emphasized the expectation of the continuation of the Azerbaijan’s strong affiliation and partnership with the Turkic Speaking countries and the Turkic Council.
Deputy Secretary General Kocaman also gave interviews to local media outlets apart from the press conference.
