The Turkic Council delegation attended the “Vakantiebeurs Utrecht 2019” International Trade Fair on 9-14 January 2019 at Jaarbeurs Exhibition and Convention Center in Utrecht city, Netherlands to promote the Turkic Council Modern Silk Road Joint Tour Package.
The stand of the Turkic Council Joint Tour Package stood on the site reserved for the promotion of Turkey, provided by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of the Republic of Turkey.
On the first day of the exhibition (9 January) the site was opened by the Minister of Culture and Tourism of the Republic of Turkey H.E. Mehmet Nuri Ersoy, Turkey`s Ambassador to the Hague Mr. Saban Dişli, Consul General of the Republic of Turkey in Amsterdam Mr. Engin Arikan, Consul General at Consulate General of Turkey, Rotterdam Mr. Aytac Yilmaz, The Turkish Consulate General in Deventer Mr. Tuna Yücel Modrak and Mayor of Utrecht city Mr. Jan van Zanen. During the opening ceremony the Minister delivered a speech to the exhibitors the achievements in the tourism sector and made an assessment on the expectations regarding the tourism market’s dynamics in 2019, as well as income-oriented tourism marketing with regard to cooperation in tourism with Netherlands.
“Vakantiebeurs 2019” is a leisure and tourism event where travel agencies and cultural associations from all across the world gather around at a single spot and present their countries and market their travelling agencies. More than 105,369 global travel trade professionals including 1126 exhibitors from 119 countries participated in the fair.
The Turkic Council Secretariat exhibited the Modern Silk Road Joint Tour Package to the potential buyers and customers and in order to establish and consolidate the "Modern Silk Road" brand in the industry. In addition, B2B meetings were organized during the Fair to establish new contacts for future collaboration, especially with tour operators from the Europe, Africa and South Asia.
This event served as an excellent opportunity to find/meet new suppliers, build new networks and discover recent trends within the industry, as well as helped to intensify Secretariat`s efforts on further promotion of Modern Silk Road Tour Package.
Dutch tourists and participants showed great interest to our region and to Turkic Council Modern Silk Road Tour Package.
Farrukh Jumayev, Project Director of the Turkic Council and Ece Ozer, Representative from the Coordinator of the Consortium, which is responsible for the implementation of the Modern Silk Road Joint Tour Package were present in the delegation.
