The Turkic Council Business Forum was convened on 19 February 2014 in Istanbul at the premises of the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey.
More than 100 businessmen from Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Turkey representing various sectors participated at the Forum.
Forum was opened by the addresses of Halil Akinci, Secretary General of the Turkic Council, Mr. Halim Mete, Vice President of the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey (TOBB), Mr. Vugar Zeynalov, Vice President, National Confederation of Entrepreneurs (Employers’) Organizations, Mr. Sabr Yessenbekov, President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Kazakhstan and Mr. Amangeldy Davletaliev, First Vice President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Kyrgyzstan.
After the inaugural session, representatives of the Member States gave presentations on foreign investment and improvement of the investment climate in their countries.
Following the official part business to business meetings were convened.
Parallel to the B2B meetings, the second meeting of the Turkic Business Council, which was established at the First Summit of the Turkic Council held in Almaty, in October 2011, was held. During the meeting following items were discussed:
- Organizing Round Tables for the Businessmen in each Member State
- Next Business Forum and meeting of Turkic Business Council
- Exhibition of the Export Oriented Products of Turkic Council Member States
- Turkic Business Prize
- Technical visit for investors/businessmen of the Member States to each other in order to explore investment opportunities
