The delegation of the Turkic Council headed by the Deputy Secretary General Mirvokhid Azimov met with the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic, Azizbek Madmarov on 6 January 2021 in Bishkek.
A.Madmarov stated that Kyrgyzstan highly values the support that Turkic Council and its Member States have extended to Kyrgyzstan after the October 4 Parliamentary Elections and the ensuing period. He highlighted the visit of the Secretary General of the Turkic Council, H.E. Baghdad Amreyev, to Bishkek and his high-level meetings with the then Acting-President H.E. Sadyr Japarov, Speaker of Parliament H.E. Kanatbek Isaev and Foreign Minister of Kyrgyzstan H.E. Ruslan Kazakbaev on 23-26 October 2020 as a solid expression of such support shown to Kyrgyzstan.
He also expressed the gratification of the results of the visit of Minister R.Kazakbaev to Turkey where his another meeting was held with Secretary General of Turkic Council in Istanbul.
He further reassured the readiness of Kyrgyzstan to continue its contribution to the development of the Turkic Council, as well as to the strengthening of productive cooperation among the Turkic Speaking States.
Deputy Secretary General M.Azimov noted that as a founding member and essential part of the Turkic world Kyrgyzstan has put significant added value to the work of the Turkic Council with various initiatives and active involvement from the outset of the organization. M.Azimov stated that the Turkic Council will continue the support to the Kyrgyzstan in rebuilding economy, improvement of social sphere and enhancing trade and transport potential of the country. He also stated that the upcoming elections and referendum will be a turning point for the stability, development and prosperity of the brotherly Kyrgyzstan.
Parties discussed the activities high on the agenda of the Turkic Council, including but not limited to the upcoming Informal Summit of the Turkic Council planned to be convened in Turkistan, Kazakhstan at the end of March 2021.
Turkic Council International Election Observation Mission composed of the officials of the Turkic Council Secretariat and the Member States started monitoring the early Presidential Elections and Referendum of the Kyrgyz Republic in Bishkek.
