Turkic Council delegation met with the Deputy Chairman of the State Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan for Tourism Development on 10 July 2018 in Tashkent in the framework of the first Turkic Council study visit to Uzbekistan.
Turkic Council delegation composed of Project Director, Ms. Özge Pan and Advisor to the Secretary General, Mr. Rashad Gasimov briefed the Deputy Chairman on tourism cooperation mechanisms within the Turkic Council. They also provided the Deputy Chairman with relevant information on the Council’s Modern Silk Road Tour Project, one of the outstanding projects of the Organization aimed at reviving the ancient Silk Road and promotimg the economic development of the Member States.
Deputy Chairman informed the delegation in detail on the incentive policies undertaken by the Uzbek government such as infrastructure improvements, tax exemptioms applied in every field that would contribute to the development of tourism in Uzbekistan, as well as ongoing tourism projects and upcoming international meetings planned to be held in Tashkent.
Parties also shared views on joint cooperation opportunities mainly focused around the Turkic Council Modern Silk Road Joint Tour Program.
