On 26-27 October 2016, the delegation of Turkic Council comprised of the customs officials of the Member States (Azerbaijan, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan) visited Kapikule Border Crossing Point (BCP) located in Edirne province in order to get familiarized with the Built-Operate-Transfer system of building and modernizing BCPs around Turkey realized by the Ministry of Customs and Trade of The Republic of Turkey together with the Union of Chambers of Commodity Exchanges of Turkey (TOBB) within the public-private partnership framework.
During the visit delegation met with customs officials and administrative staff who cary out this project and presentations on the activities of the Ministry, the system of BOT were made by Turkish Customs officials and TOBB representatives. Afterwards, the delegation examined the facilities and observed the operations in action.
At the end of the field trip, the delegation paid a courtesy visit to the Governor of Edirne Mr. Günay Özdemir and exchanged views on the outcomes of the official visit.
