The delegation of the Turkic Council headed by the Deputies Secretary General Abzal Saparbekuly and Dr. Ömer Kocaman, visited and made observations at the International Logistics Base in Ankara today (16 March) and met with the senior management of the Center as well as the officials of the Ministry of Customs and Trade.
This visit was organized within the scope of the relevant decision of the Heads of States taken at the 3rd Summit of the Turkic Council held in 2013 as well as the decisions taken at the meetings of transport and customs ministers, for further strengthening the regional cooperation in order to increase the transport efficiency among the member countries, where the the Secretariat was appointed to strengthen this cooperation by making regular meetings and visits with the relevant institutions.
The delegation received information on the operation of the center as well as the operation of customs procedures and during the consultation meeting held later, they exchanged opinions on the methods that could be followed in order to transfer this model to the other member states.
As the result of the recent contacts and meetings of Mr. Gosman Amrin, Vice Chairman of the State Income Committee of Kazakhstan at the center which is followed by the visit of the Turkic Council delegation, the parties agreed to work on concrete models to increase the sharing of knowledge and experience in the construction and operation of existing logistics infrastructures among the member states in order to increase the logistical capacity in the region.
