Turkic Council Deputy Secretary General Dr. Ömer Kocaman attended the 35th Meeting of the Permanent Council of Culture Ministers of TURKSOY and the closing ceremony of the program “Turkistan-the Cultural Capital of Turkic World” held on 4-5 December 2017 in Turkistan, Kazakhstan.

Addressing the audience, Secretary General of TURKSOY Ambassador Dusen Kaseinov reported that a number of events were held in Turkistan throughout the year with the support of the TURKSOY. Secretary General Kaseinov also highlighted the activities held within the framework of the “Turkistan-the Cultural Capital of Turkic World”.

Following the statement of the heads of delegations, Deputy Secretary General Dr. Ömer Kocaman reiterated the importance of TURKSOY as an international organization and position it plays in cultural relations among the Turkic people and countries. In this regards, Turkic Council as the umbrella organization stands ready to continue extending its support to the TURKSOY and its prominent activities.

Afterwards, the Permanent Council reviewed the current projects and the activities of the TURKSOY over the last year, while considering the commencement the new developments, and discussed ways of expanding cultural relations among its member states.

An exhibition of a number of fine art masters was arranged within the framework of council`s meeting.
