The Election Observation Mission of the Turkic Council, which finished monitoring the Parliamentary Elections of the Republic of Azerbaijan on 2 November 2015, attended the press conference where the head of the mission Deputy Secretary General Dr. Ömer Kocaman informed the press and public about monitoring results in the cities of Baku and Ganja.
At the press conference the delegation comprising the members of the Turkic Academy, officials from the corresponding institutions of the Member States and officials of the Turkic Council evaluated the elections process and gave its general remarks. The report of the mission will be conveyed to the Member States of the Turkic Council.
This is the 8th mission organized by the Turkic Council to monitor the elections in the Member States. Previously, Turkic Council’s joint observation missions monitored the Presidential Election in Kyrgyzstan’s Osh city in October 2011, Parliamentary Elections in Kazakhstan’s South Kazakhstan Province in January 2012, Presidential Election in Azerbaijan’s Aghdam district of Karabakh in October 2013, Presidential Election in Turkey’s Istanbul city in August 2014, early Presidential Election in Kazakhstan in April 2015 and Parliamentary Elections in Kyrgyzstan in October 2015.
