Turkic Council International Observer Mission headed by the Secretary General Ambassador Ramil Hasan started monitoring Presidential and 27th term Parliamentary General Elections of the Republic of Turkey on June 22, 2018. The delegations for the International Observer Mission of the Turkic Council comprised of the representatives from the central election committees of the Member States other than Turkey– Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan as well as officials of the International Turkic Academy and the Turkic Council Secretariat, carry out their activities in Istanbul, Samsun and Antalya.
In the framework of pre-election activities, members of the delegations, who continue their work in three groups, met with the Chairmen of Provincial Election Boards in three cities and received information about the election preparation process, the electoral system, voter records and ballot boxes.
During the meeting the delegations provided information about the Turkic Council, the activities of the organization, as well as the functions and objectives of the mission in the scope of the electoral observation. The delegation in Antalya visited Münir Karaloğlu, the Governor of Antalya and got information on relevant issues, including the security measures taken in the framework of the electoral process.
Asylbek Eshimov, Vice-President of the Central Election Board of Kyrgyzstan, Hasan Kazimzade, Representative of the Central Election Board of Azerbaijan, Askhat Kessikbayev, Representative of the Turkic Academy, Alim Bayaliyev, Representative of Kazakhstan and Deputy Secretary Gerneral of the Turkic Council Dr. Ömer Kocaman, Project Director Ali Çiviler, Research Expert Dastan Almen and Acting Chief of Protocol Araz Salmanov were present at the meetings held in Antalya.
Mikayil Rahimov and Nizami Nadirov, Representatives of Central Election Board of Azerbaijan, Mirlan Konurbaev, Head of Department of the Kyrgyzstan Central Election Board, Serzhan Sarsenbayev, Representative of Kazakhstan and Project Directors of the Turkic Council Yıldız Uzakova, Ceyhun Şahverdiyev and Pelin Musabay Baki participated in the meetings in Istanbul.
The representatives of the Turkic Academy, Timur Kozyrev and Turkic Council Project Directors Assan Mazhitov and Farid Damirli as well as, Advisor to the Secretary General Rashad Gasimov participated in the meetings in Samsun.
