Turkic Council Junior Diplomats 6th Joint Training Program has started with the visit to grave of National Leader Heydar Aliyev, Shehidler Khiyabani, Baku Turkish Martyrs’ Memorial and followed by the opening ceremony at ADA University of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
25 junior diplomats from the Turkic Council Member States Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkey, Observer State Hungary, as well as non-member Turkic Speaking States Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan are taking part in the program, which was launched by the welcoming and opening speeches of Mr. Fariz Ismailzade, Executive Vice Rector, ADA University and Dr. Omer Kocaman, Deputy Secretary General of the Turkic Council.
Opening ceremony continued with the lecture of Ambassador (R) Halil Akıncı, First Secretary General of the Turkic Council on the “Role of the Turkic Council in Fostering Cooperation among Turkic Speaking Countries”.
At second part of the day, the junior diplomats had lectures on Public Diplomacy and Media Relations in Action by Ms. Shafag Mehraliyeva, Instructor, School of Public and International Affairs, ADA University, and Mrs. Leyla Abdullayev, Spokesperson and Head of Press Service Department, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan as well as on Public Diplomacy: Nation Branding by Mr. Fariz Ismailzade, Executive Vice Rector, ADA University.
On this occasion, a welcoming reception was also hosted by ADA University.
Junior Diplomats Joint Training Program was included in the activities of the Turkic Council in accordance with the Cooperation Protocol among the Ministries of Foreign Affairs, signed at the Third Summit of the Turkic Council. In this framework, First, Second, Third, Fourth and Fifth Junior Diplomats Joint Training Programs were organized in Turkey on 13-25 April 2014, in Azerbaijan on 1-15 March 2015, in Kazakhstan on 23 May-5 June 2016, in Kyrgyzstan on 3-16 July 2017, and in Turkey on 25 June-7 July 2018, respectively.
The Secretariat prepares the contents of the training programs taking into consideration the priorities of the Turkic Council and the host country as well as the experiences from the previous programs. Through the programs, junior diplomats of the Member States attend two-week training in one of the Member States to increase their knowledge about that country, current issues of international relations as well as to build lasting friendship with each other.
The program will last for two weeks and end on 26 May 2019.
