Turkic Council Secretariat participated in the First Forum for Reviving Traditional Sports.
Turkic Council Deputy Secretary General Dr. Ömer Kocaman and Project Director Ali Çiviler took part in the First Forum for Reviving Traditional Sports organized by World Ethnosport Confederation on 17-18 February 2018 in Antalya.

Minister of Youth and Sports of the Republic of Turkey Osman Aşkın Bak, Governor of Antalya Münir Karaloğlu and Mayor of Antalya Metropolitan Municipality Menderes Türel participated in the forum which was attended by the representatives of ethnosport federations coming from 56 countries. The two-day forum focused on the current situation of the ethnosports, the challenges it faces, and the steps that should be taken to make this field widespread in Turkey and around the world.

The representatives from Turkic Council shared their experience from World Nomad Games with the forum participants. In addition, the parties discussed the importance of giving place to traditional sports games in the activities taken place in the framework of the Youth Camps, Youth Festivals, University Sports Games and Youth Platform operating under the aegis of the Turkic Council, which was also noted to be a significant step in the terms of the promotion of the ethnosports.
