Turkic Council Secretary General Ambassador Ramil Hasanov, who is in New York as part of the United Nations General Assembly, participated in the “Turkish House Groundbreaking Ceremony”, which was honored with the participation of the President of the Republic of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdoğan on 18 September 2017 in New York.
The First Lady Emine Erdoğan, Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Turkey Recep Akdağ, Minister of Foreign Affairs Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu, Minister of Justice Abdülhamit Gül, Minister for EU Affairs and Chief Negotiator Ömer Çelik, Minister of Economy Nihat Zeybekçi, Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Berat Albayrak and Members of Parliament present in the delegation as well as diplomats and representatives of the Turkish American community attended the groundbreaking ceremony.

A representative from the contracting company and Minister of Foreign Affairs Çavuşoğlu made the opening speeches, after which President of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdoğan addressed the audience stating that the Turkish House that will be befitting Turkey will be built in a 36-month period. The new facility will serve not only Turkey but also all other friendly and brotherly countries.
The ceremony then continued with prayer and ended with a symbolic groundbreaking ceremony led by the President Erdoğan and the delegation members.
Head of Protocol Emre Yurdakul accompanied the Secretary General Hasanov during the ceremony.
