Turkic Council Secretary General Ambassador Ramil Hasanov attended to the Official Closing Ceremony of Sheki 2016 – Cultural Capital of the Turkic World being held concurrently to the 34th Meeting of the Permanent Council of Culture Ministers of TURKSOY on 1-2 December 2016 in Azerbaijan’s Sheki city.
The closing ceremony, where the Ministers of Culture and the Deputy Ministers of Culture of various member countries of TURKSOY and the local government officials of Azerbaijan were present, started with the opening of TURKSOY painting exhibition. TURKSOY Painting Awards were presented to painters selected at the 19th Painters` Gathering of TURKSOY.
A concert with the participation of musicians from the Turkic world was organized in honor of the closing ceremony. The concert, in which the elements of culture and art of the Turkic peoples were exhibited, was held with the great participation of the people Sheki.
During the Ceremony, Turkistan, city of Kazakhstan has been selected as the Cultural Capital of the Turkic World for 2017.
Following the closing ceremony, Minister of Culture and Tourism of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Mr. Ebulfez Garayev gave dinner in honor of guest delegations.
Deputy Secretary General Dr. Ömer Kocaman, Project Director Ali Çiviler and Finance and Administration Assistant Manager Araz Salmanov accompanied Secretary General Hasanov at the closing ceremony.
