Turkic Council Secretary General Ambassador Ramil Hasanov participated in the "Sport Integrity Global Alliance" (SIGA) General Assembly organized by the International Center for Sport Security (ICSS) on 27 July 2017 in Lisbon.
Participants of the General Assembly coming from 80 countries and international organizations including the representatives of the Portuguese Government, Deputy Minister of Sports of Greece, President of the Spanish Football Federation (La Liga) and high level names coming from all over the world discussed the founding documents, corporate structure and future projection of the SIGA, of which Turkic Council is a founding member.
New members were accepted during the General Assembly of the SIGA, which was established with the aim of increasing the unifying potential of sports, safeguarding the ethical code and entegrity of sports, providing equal opportunities and preventing corruption in sports.
Secretary General Hasanov had several bilateral talks before and after the meeting, especially with the ICSS President Mohammed Hanzab and SIGA General Coordinator Emanuel Medeiros, during which he informed the counterparts about the activities carried out by the Turkic Council in the field of youth and sports and made evaluations concerning prospectives plans to be realized within the scope of SIGA. Secretary General Hasanov also presented the Activity Report of the Turkic Council for 2016, brochure of the international conference commemorating the “Khojaly Genocide” and brochure of the international conference on the “Role of Youth in Preventing and Countering Violent Extremism” co-organized earlier with UNAOC.
Project Director Ali Çiviler and Head of Protocol Emre Yurdakul accompanied Secretary General Hasanov at the meeting.
