Turkic Judicial Training Network’s Kurultai on Cybercrime organized by the Justice Academy of Türkiye in collaboration with the Secretariat of the Organization of the Turkic States and the Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TIKA) has started in Bursa on 26 April 2023.
The Kurultai was inaugurated with keynote speeches by Mr. Ramazan Solmaz, Chief Public Prosecutor of Bursa, Mr. Uğur Tanyeli, Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency Head of External Relations and Partnerships Department, Mr. Sadi Jafarov, Deputy Secretary General of the Organization of Turkic States, and Mr. Muhittin Özdemir, President of the Justice Academy of Türkiye.
In his speech, the Deputy Secretary General of the OTS emphasized the importance of the event in promoting justice, stability, security and prosperity in the Turkic world. He also talked about the importance of combating cybercrime, which undermines the security of nations, poses serious threats to the privacy and safety of citizens, and the integrity of economies and financial systems.
The Kurultai will continue until 28 April with a main focus on the international legal framework and national legislation related to combating cybercrimes. Presentations will be made by professors and legal experts from Istanbul University, Galatasaray University, Istanbul Council of Forensic Medicine, and the Specialized Department of Computer Forensics.
Representatives from Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Türkiye, Uzbekistan, and Hungary will also share information on their legislation on cybercrime and present case studies related to cybercrime.
The Turkic Judicial Training Network was established within the framework of the Organization of Turkic States on 12 December 2022, in Istanbul, for further development of the cooperation in the multilateral format among the Judicial Training Institutions of the Member and Observer States of the OTS.
