The Turkic world demonstrates strong solidarity with and stands by the brothers and sisters in Türkiye in the face of widespread damage and loss of life that was caused by devastating series of earthquakes in southern and southeastern regions of the country.
National authorities of the member and observer countries of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS) responsible for emergency situations, disaster management and relief, immediately started to work in coordination with AFAD - Disaster and Emergency Management Presidency under the Turkish Ministry of Interior.
The OTS countries dispatched professional search and rescue teams, sent field hospitals, medical and technical equipment, as well as humanitarian aid to help with Turkiye’s relief efforts.
The heads of Turkic states called President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan to wish the Turkish public well and expressed their condolences.
Turkic nations also sent pouring messages of support through social media to their brothers and sisters that were affected by the earthquake. NGOs, public and private institutions from Turkic world also started collecting humanitarian and financial aid to donate to the people affected by the catastrophic earthquake.
The OTS Secretary General Ambassador Kubanychbek Omuraliev sent President Erdoğan a message of condolence and issued a statement of solidarity. The flags at OTS headquarters were lowered to half-staff due to 7-Days of National Mourning in Türkiye. The staff of the OTS Secretariat also made through the AFAD a financial aid. The OTS Secretariat continues its work in the direction of providing assistance to help the people affected by the disaster.
