Deputy Secretary General of the Turkic Council Abzal Saparbekuly hold several contacts and attend various meetings within the context of the International Expedition entitled “From Tian Shan to Otukan: Historical and Cultural Legacies of Nomads of the Great Steppe” being organized by the International Turkic Academy.
During the meetings held with the General Directorate of the Mongolian National Archives and the General Directorate of National Museums, joint cooperation protocols were signed between the International Turkic Academy and said institutions.
Additionaly, the presentation of two books of Turar Ryskulov, an intellectual, statesman and great leader of Turkestan, published for the first time in Mongolian, entitled “Turar Ryskulov’s service in Mongolia” and “Documents about Turar Ryskulov’s services in Mongolia” held in General Directorate of Mongolian National Archives in cooperation with the International Turkic Academy. Turar Ryskulov who devoted his life to the independence of people of Turkestan, also played a key role in Mongolia’s struggle for independence. He is the father of the idea of the name of today’s Ulaanbaatar (‘Red Hero’).
During the meeting held with the General Directorate of National Museums of Mongolia, a common declaration was published and cooperation projects for the coming period were identified. A meeting was also held with the President of the National Museum Mr. Suhabata and it was proposed to exhibit the cultural heritage of the Turkic world available in Mongolia in Turkic States.
Public figures, intellectuals, academicians from Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Turkey as well as Mongolian and Turkic studies specialists and journalists attended these events in Ulaanbaatar.
