The International Conference entitled “Kutadgu Bilig– the Great Monument of World Turkic Studies: Topical Problems of its Study” is being held in virtual format on 27-28 November 2020 by the Ministry of Higher and Secondary Special Education of the Republic of Uzbekistan and Tashkent State University of Oriental Studies. More than 200 representatives from Turkic Council, TURKSOY, diplomatic missions of the Member and Observer States, as well as partner universities and scientific institutions across the world are taking part in the event dedicated to the 950th anniversary of “KutadguBilig”.
Attending the welcoming ceremony of the conference with a keynote speech, Deputy Secretary General of Turkic Council Mirvokhid Azimov underlined the importance of “Kutadgu Bilig”, a masterpiece by Yusuf Khass Hajib who is one of the common cultural values of the Turkic World. Expressing full support of the Turkic Council to such events, hehighlighted that this cultural heritage is a vivid testimony of the fact that the great Turkic kingdoms that ruled centuries ago were established based on knowledge, justice and humanity, rule of law, and good faith.
The participants of the conference also noted that a comprehensive study of the masterpieces of our ancestors would serve not only to introduce our rich history and culture to the globe but also to bring closer Turkic countries and strengthen fraternal relations of the Turkic people.
