The new Ambassador of the Republic of Kazakhstan to the Republic of Turkiye His Excellency Yerkebulan Sapiyev paid a visit to the headquarters of the Organization of Turkic States in Istanbul on May 21, 2022.
The Ambassador was received by the Secretary General of OTS Baghdad Amreyev who welcomed the Kazakh envoy and expressed his hope that the new Ambassador will give a new impetus to the brotherly relations between Kazakhstan and Türkiye. 
Baghdad Amreyev wished Yerkebulan Sapiyev further success in all endeavours at his new mission and assured him his full support. 
Ambassador Sapiyev thanked the Secretary General for his warm hospitality and highlighted the role of OTS Secretariat and the Secretary General’s personal efforts in strengthening the unity of the Turkic World. He reassured the Secretary General that the Kazakh Embassy in Ankara will continue its efforts for further developing the Turkic cooperation. 
Secretary General and Ambassador expressed their belief that the recent highly successful visit of His Excellency President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev to Türkiye has marked a new era not only in evaluating the Kazakh Turkish ties to a new strategic horizon, but also contributed to widening the multifaceted cooperation in the framework of Organization of Turkic States.
B. Amreyev and Y. Sapiev exchanged views on the ongoing activities of the Organization in various fields and agreed on having closer coordination the joint agenda of the Turkic cooperation.
Deputies of the OTS Secretary General, Mirvokhid Azimov and Gismat Gozalov as well as the Consul General of Kazakhstan in Istanbul Alim Bayaliyev also participated in the meeting.
