The Organization of Turkic States (OTS) delegation participated in the event titled "Realizing the Potential of the Middle Corridor: Initial Findings and Recommendations", hosted by the OECD Centre in Istanbul on 6 November 2023.
Dr. Mirvokhid Azimov, the OTS Deputy Secretary General delivered a speech during Session 2 "Addressing the Challenge of Multimodality", where he emphasized the Middle Corridor's vital role as a transport network connecting Europe and Asia, underlining its immense potential for economic growth and regional cooperation.
Deputy Secretary General Azimov underscored the significance of the Action Plan (Roadmap) for the Implementation of the OTS Transport Connectivity Program for 2023-2027 adopted recently during the Astana Summit. He expressed his belief that the proper implementation of this comprehensive plan that encompasses over 35 actions will significantly enhance the Corridor's transit potential and facilitate smoother Caspian crossings.
The Deputy Secretary General emphasized that the OECD's findings and recommendations align closely with the objectives of the OTS and will serve as a valuable guide for the ongoing development of the Middle Corridor, furthering the promotion of economic growth and the strengthening of regional ties.
