Fatwa Committee under the Council of Heads of Muslim Religious Boards of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS) convened on 2 October 2024 in Astana, Kazakhstan.
The meeting was inaugurated by Mr. Naurızbay Hacı Taganulı, Spiritual Administration of Kazakhstan Muslims and attended by Mr. Mirvokhid Azimov, Deputy Secretary General of the OTS and Members of the Fatwa Committee as well as around 50 religious officials from Kazakhstan.
At the meeting, Parties made presentations regarding the methodology of issuing fatwa as well as discussed and finalized the Guideline of the Fatwa Committee and Resolution on the "Islam Supports the Traditions of Local People", which reflects the joint views of the Member States on the subject-matter.
