The annual Kyrgyz Information Technology (KIT) 2024 Forum was held in Bishkek on June 7-8. Organized since 2010, the forum is one of the largest IT and digital innovation events in the country. It brings together the business community, international experts, government officials, and IT specialists to discuss current issues in the development of the technology sector. The Forum also includes interesting panel discussions, interactive master classes and opportunities for effective networking.
In his opening speech at the Forum, the Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic, Akylbek Zhaparov, emphasized that the President of Kyrgyzstan, Sadyr Zhaparov, approved a new strategy for the digital development of the country, which will allow government agencies to launch groundbreaking digital projects with tangible results for citizens.
A.Zhaparov expressed the need for a new model of public administration based on digital and, above all, smart and effective solutions, introducing digital technologies throughout the country. He added that Kyrgyzstan is making good progress on the road to digitalization and that government agencies are making more use of digital technologies and are abandoning paper documentation.
A panel session dedicated to the Organization of Turkic States (OTS) on "Green Technologies and Technological Solutions" was held within the framework of KIT Forum on June 7. The panel session was moderated by Farrukh Jumayev, Project Director of the OTS Secretariat, and the panelists were representatives of “Sabah Hub” (Azerbaijan), Hi-Tech Park (Kyrgyzstan) and “DiGi LCC” company (Kyrgyzstan), and Bilkent Cyberpark (Türkiye) as a participant.
During the panel discussions, the participants presented an overview and the role of technoparks in promoting green technologies and sustainable innovation, in particular, they shared information about the most promising projects in the field of green technologies that are currently being developed by the residents of technoparks. In conclusion, the speakers stressed the important role of regional cooperation and cross-border partnerships in the OTS region in the promotion and transformation of green technologies, and the need to raise awareness, increase R&D, develop human capital and infrastructure, and access finance.
The participants from the OTS countries also visited the largest mobile operator in the Kyrgyz Republic "MEGA" Company and "Technopark Co-working" (one of the best and modern open space providers for startups), and had fruitful discussions there.
