On 17-18 October 2025, Ms. Mine Sertkan, Project Manager of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS), participated and delivered a speech in the TurkTransplant Conference held within the margins of the 1st International Medical Congress of Turkic Speaking Countries, which was held in Bafra, the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus.

During the Conference, the Participants discussed the importance of organ donation, shared their experiences in their countries and exchanged information on transplantation. The panel discussions mainly focused on organ, tissue, and cell transplantation services in the Turkic World, TurkTransplant as a transnational network, public trust in organ donation and transplantation, structural and social barriers to organ donation and strategies for expanding organ pool.

The Protocol of Intent on creating the TURKTRANSPLANT Unified Information System was adopted during the 4thMeeting of Ministers of Health of the OTS on 8 October 2024 in Shusha, Azerbaijan. This protocol aims to facilitate collaboration and knowledge exchange in organ transplantation in the Turkic World.
