OTS Secretary General addressed at the opening ceremony of the Turkic Red Network Volunteer Camp

H.E. Ambassador Kubanychbek Omuraliev, Secretary General of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS), delivered a keynote address at the opening ceremony of the Turkic Red Network Volunteer Camp held on 30 July 2025 in Istanbul. The event brought together representatives and volunteers from the Red Cross and Red Crescent National Societies of the Turkic States.

In his speech, Ambassador Omuraliev emphasized the growing importance of coordinated humanitarian action in the face of today’s global challenges—including rising conflicts, deepening social polarization, and the intensifying effects of climate change.

The Secretary General drew special attention to the signing of the Multilateral Agreement on the Establishment of the Civil Protection Mechanism during the OTS Summit on 6 November 2024 in Bishkek, calling it a milestone in enhancing the collective capacity of Turkic States to respond to emergencies and natural disasters. “It further empowers the Turkic Red Network to act swiftly and effectively in times of crisis,” he stated.
