Secretary General of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS) Amb. Kubanychbek Omuraliev held an online meeting with the Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, H.E. Rashid Meredov on 6 April 2023.
During the meeting, Foreign Minister and Secretary General discussed the current state of cooperation processes within the Organization, prospects for deeper collaboration among Turkic States in the upcoming period, and their respective planned activities. They also exchanged views on establishing new mechanisms of the OTS that would enhance the connectivity in the region.
Furthermore, Foreign Minister Meredov informed Secretary General Omuraliev on the city of “Arkadag”, new administrative center of the Akhal province, developed in accordance with the highest standards of modern architecture and urban planning. It was also added that advanced digital technologies are being introduced in “Arkadag” city, which will operate on the basis of the concept of “smart city” and promises to become one of the leaders in the development of urban infrastructure.
Secretary General praised the achievements of Turkmenistan in the construction of “Arkadag” city based on the use of innovative and environmentally friendly technologies and expressed the readiness of the OTS to provide every support to its members and observers in promoting sustainable development and digitalization. He further wished that this initiative would become a model in the region for both urban culture and ecology and further contribute to the welfare of Turkmenistan and the brotherly Turkmen people.
