The Turkic World Youth Education Forum was held in Tashkent on 15 December 2025 to mark World Turkic Language Family Day.
The Forum was organized by the International Turkic States University. The event brought together over 150 participants, including representatives from governmental bodies, academic circles and scientific institutions, think tanks, members of the diplomatic corps and active youth.
The Forum featured two panel sessions: “Sustainable Development and Strategic Cooperation of the Turkic States in a Changing Geopolitical Environment” and “Toward Turkic Cultural Identity and a Common Spiritual Space: The Role of Turkic World Youth in the Process of Integration”.
In his address, Deputy Secretary General of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS), Dr. Mirvokhid Azimov highlighted the symbolic significance of holding the Forum at the International Turkic States University, established at the initiative of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan. He emphasized that among the more than 30 areas of comprehensive cooperation within the OTS, education and youth issues remain a top priority.
Deputy Secretary General also drew attention to the Charter of the Turkic World, adopted by the Heads of State at the Bishkek Summit in 2024, noting that the Charter promotes further cooperation among Turkic states based on shared historical ties, linguistic unity, and cultural harmony.
Dr. Mirvokhid Azimov reaffirmed that the OTS will continue to serve as an effective platform for cooperation, enabling Member States to realize their potential, consolidate efforts, and respond collectively to global and regional challenges.
The Forum further demonstrated the pivotal role of Turkic civilization in the global cultural and intellectual space and highlighted the importance of youth engagement and educational collaboration for sustainable development in the Turkic world.
It is noteworthy that during the 43rd Session of the UNESCO General Conference, held in November 2025 in Samarkand, December 15 was officially declared as World Turkic Language Family Day, marking a historic milestone for the Turkic world.
