The proposal of declaring 2022 as the “Year of Support for Youth Initiatives” in the Turkic world was put forward by the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan H.E. Shavkat Mirziyoyev during the 8th Summit of the Organization of Turkic States in Istanbul. It was decided by the Ministers in charge of Youth and Sports of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS) in their fifth meeting held in Tashkent in 2021 to organize the 4th Young Leaders Forum in Uzbekistan in 2022 and declare a city of Uzbekistan as the First Youth Capital of the Turkic World.
Built on this background, the program including “the 4th Young Leaders Forum of the Organization of Turkic States; Official Announcement of Bukhara as the First Turkic World Youth Capital; and Official Announcement of 2022 as the Year of Support for Youth Initiatives in the Turkic World will be co-organized by the Youth Affairs Agency of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Bukhara regional administration and the Secretariat of the Organization of Turkic States on 3-4 June 2022 in the city of Bukhara of Uzbekistan.
The goal is to develop the leadership and personal development skills of the youth of the member and observer states of the Organization of Turkic States, as well as to establish and encourage cooperation between non-governmental organizations working in the field of youth and high-level organization of the official announcement of 2022 as the “Year of Support for Youth Initiatives” and Bukhara as the First Turkic World Youth Capital.
Together with more than 200 youngsters from OTS Member and Observer States, the officials from government institutions, ministries and agencies in charge of youth policy, successful young leaders from various fields, heads of Youth NGOs, prominent businessmen, journalists, bloggers, influencers, artists and sportsmen are expected to participate in the program.
At the inauguration of the Young Leaders Forum on 3rd of June the official announcement of 2022 as the “Year of Support for Youth Initiatives” in the Turkic world and Bukhara as the First Capital of Turkic World Youth will take place.
In honor of the declaration of Bukhara as the Turkic World Youth Capital, the central park in Bukhara will be named as the Turkic World Youth Park and a monument will be erected. High guests will also plant saplings for each Member and Observer States and the Organization of Turkic States.
The Forum will host various panels and training seminars on “Entrepreneurship-business”, “Art and Culture”, “Science and education”, ”Media” and ”Sport”.
