In the framework of his working visit to Astana, the Secretary General of the Turkic Council, Baghdad Amreyev was received by Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan, H.E. Askar Mamin on 13 March 2019.
Secretary General Amreyev congratulated Prime Minister Askar Mamin with the appointment and conveyed his best wishes for the continued success in his endeavors and in achieving the goals towards further developing national economy, attracting foreign direct investment, and ensuring the welfare of the people of Kazakhstan.
Secretary General Amreyev briefed the Prime Minister H.E. Askar Mamin on the latest activities and projects being pursued by the Secretariat. He emphasized that promoting the trade and economic cooperation among the Turkic Council Member States is one of the most important priorities for the Organization. He highlighted the huge potential among the Turkic Council Member States in different areas including trade, tourism, transport, customs and education.
H.E. Mamin welcomed Secretary General Amreyev and underlined the role of Turkic Council in strengthening the relations among the Turkic Council Member States through boosting cooperation in various sectors of the economy, notably trade, transport, investments, energy, and tourism. He emphasized the necessity to use the full potential of each country within the Turkic Council and advised to prepare a concrete program on economic cooperation among the Member States.
Prime Minister expressed support of the Republic of Kazakhstan and its readiness to contribute to all initiatives of Secretariat aimed at improving the effectiveness of the Turkic Council, its involvement to the realization of regional projects, as well as the structural reforming of organization adopted during the 6th Summit of the Turkic Council held in September 2018 in Cholpon-Ata.
Secretary General expressed gratitude to the Government of Kazakhstan for supporting the activities of the Turkic Council, adding that it plays an essential role in successful implementation of the initiatives and events of the organization that are planned to be held during this year in Kazakhstan.
Secretary General Amreyev informed the Prime Minister that Turkic Council in cooperation with Uzbekistan is planning to bring together members of the private sector of the Member States by organizing a Turkic Business Forum in Tashkent this year.
