During his working visit to Uzbekistan, the Secretary General of the Organization of Turkic States, Baghdad Amreyev met with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan, H.E. Vladimir Norov on 28 October 2022 in Tashkent.
The Secretary General and Foreign Minster noted with satisfaction the positive dynamics in the development of relations between Uzbekistan and the Organization, and had detailed discussion on the OTS agenda in the political, trade, economic, cultural and humanitarian spheres.
Particular attention was paid to issues related to the preparation and holding of the Summit of the Organization of Turkic States, which will be held on November 11 this year in Samarkand and documents in the fields of trade, transport, customs, establishment of Turkic Investment Fund and etc. to be signed within the framework of Summit.
In addition, the Secretary General informed Foreign Minister Norov on schedule of upcoming events and meetings to be held in Uzbekistan, in the eve of OTS Summit, including the meeting of the Ministers in charge of Economy and meeting of the Council of Foreign Ministers of OTS on 9-10 November 2022 in Samarkand, accordingly.
The Parties exchanged their views on the results of several important events co-organized with the relevant Ministries and institutions of Uzbekistan, particularly the 4th meeting of Ministers in charge of ICT and the 5th meeting of the Transport Ministers of the OTS held from 25 to 28 October 2022 in Samarkand and Tashkent cities. The Secretary General expressed its gratitude for active contribution and support of Uzbekistan to the activities of the Organization which was carried out in accordance with instructions of the Heads of States at the last Istanbul Summit, as well as the “Turkic Visions 2040” and “OTS Strategy 2022-2026” documents.
The current state and prospects of multifaceted cooperation between Uzbekistan and the OTS, as well as certain topics on the international and regional agenda ware also discussed at the meeting.
