Turkic Council Secretary General H.E. Baghdad Amreyev held bilateral talks with the Heads of Delegation of the Member and Observer States of the Turkic Council prior to the 3rd Ministers and High Officials Meeting in charge of Information and Media of the Turkic Council, on 9-10 April 2021 in Baku.
Baghdad Amreyev discussed with the Assistant of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, H.E. Mr. Hikmet Hajiyev, , Minister of Culture, Information, Sports and Youth Policy of the Kyrgyz Republic, H.E. Mr. Kairat Imanaliev, Director of Communications of the Presidency of the Republic of Turkey, H.E. Mr. Fahrettin Altun, Director of the Agency of Information and Mass Communications under the Administration of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, H.E. Mr. Asadjon Khodjaev and Deputy Minister of Information and Social Development of the Republic of Kazakhstan, H.E. Mr. Askhat Oralov, a number of issues on the agenda of the upcoming meeting.
During the meetings, the parties exchanged views on implementing Action Plan for the cooperation in the sphere of information and media among the Member States and production of video films, serials, video materials and cartoons on history and culture.
Parties stressed the need to establish the International Turkic News Channel and to intensify cooperation among Official News Agencies and deepening collaboration among National TV Channels of the Member States.
Along with this, Parties considered issues of organizing International Media Forums in the Member States dedicated to the Turkic World as well as realization of exchange programs and training courses for media experts.
Special attention was paid on the outcomes of the Informal Turkistan Summit held on 31 March 2021 and prospective issues high on the agenda were discussed considering the upcoming Summit in Istanbul in November 2021.
Baghdad Amreyev emphasized that the upcoming Summit of Heads of State will have a historic significance, during which a number of conceptual decisions will be taken.
Secretary General thanked delegations for their constructive approach in resolving the issues and their contribution in adopting mutually acceptable solutions in the sphere of cooperation in information and media.
