The Secretary General of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS) H.E. Ambassador Kubanychbek Omuraliev had a meeting with the Minister of Family and Social Services of the Republic of Türkiye H.E. Mahinur Özdemir Göktaş on the margins of the 1st meeting of Family and Social Policy Ministers of OTS on 17 May 2024 in Istanbul.
At the meeting Ambassador Omuraliev praised the Turkish side for initiating the new cooperation platform under the OTS roof - in the field of family affairs and social policy, having emphasized the vital importance of safe guarding family members and family structure, its values, and continuity against the harms and risks posed by economic, cultural and social transformations.
Having noted the growing international role and visibility of the OTS, Minister Göktas expressed gratitude for support and co-organization of the event of historical significance for the Turkic World.
Posterior to expressing their satisfaction with the outcomes of the 1st meeting of Ministers in charge of Social Policy, the sides highlighted the importance of implementing the meeting’s declaration and adoption of joint plan of actions of Turkic States in family and social policy cooperation.
