On 11 April within the framework of the Antalya Diplomacy Forum (ADF), H.E. Ambassador Kubanychbek Omuraliev, Secretary General of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS), met with H.E. Ambassador Isiaka Abdulqadir Imam, Secretary General of the D-8 Organization for Economic Cooperation (D-8), to explore avenues for enhanced cooperation between the two organizations.

By underscoring the importance of the OTS Member State – Azerbaijan’s accession to D-8, H.E. Ambassador Omuraliev highlighted the OTS's commitment to strengthening unity and collaboration among Turkic States, while H.E. Ambassador Imam emphasized the D-8's mission to advance economic cooperation among its Member States. 

During the discussions, both leaders emphasized the importance of fostering closer ties between the OTS and the D-8 by formalizing the relations with a relevant framework document, as well as enhancing collaboration on the shared goals for promoting economic development and sustainable growth. They also exchanged views on key areas of mutual interest, including trade, investment and transportation.
