The 3rd Uludağ International Relations Conference, jointly organized by the Department of International Relations of Uludağ University Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences and the Haydar Aliyev Foundation Türkiye Representative Office, addressed “Energy Security and Regional Issues in the Caucasus.”
Given Türkiye's close linguistic, religious, historical, and cultural ties to the region and its status as an “energy-dependent” country, the conference, which was organized on the grounds that Türkiye cannot remain indifferent to developments in the region, particularly regional conflicts, was held on May 9-10, 2012, in the Rectorate Hall A.
The conference, which focused on the security of the “Caspian Energy Basin” in South Caucasus and regional issues, was attended by numerous academics and politicians from various countries who are experts in the field.
Secretary General Halil Akıncı delivered a speech at the opening session of the conference on May 9.
