Turkic Council Secretary General Baghdad Amreyev attended the Press Launch of the 4th World Nomad Games to be held in Iznik on 12 August 2020.
According to the decision taken by the Heads of States of the Turkic Council at the Summit held in Cholpon-Ata in 2018, Turkey will host the 4th World Nomad Games in Bursa, İznik in 2021.
The Minister of Youth and Sports of the Republic of Turkey H.E. Mehmet Muharrem Kasapoğlu, President of the World Ethnosport Confederation Mr. Necmeddin Bilal Erdoğan, Deputy Minister of Culture and Tourism Mr. Serdar Çam, the Mayor of Bursa Metropolitan Municipality Mr. Alinur Aktaş, officials of the Traditional Sports Federation and local administrative authorities were present at the event. Deputies Secretary General of the Turkic Council Dr. Ömer Kocaman and Mr. Sultan Raev also attended the Press Launch.
During the launch program, the authorities of the Ministry of Youth and Sports and the Federation of Traditional Sports presented the concept of the Games, the physical infrastructure of the facilities, accommodation set-up for athletes and visitors, and the ongoing preparations.
Approximately 3 thousand athletes from 100 countries and 150 thousand visitors are expected to participate in the 4th World Nomad Games, which will be held in Iznik district of Bursa, which has a special and important place in Turkic history.
Speaking at the program, Secretary General Amreyev referred to the strong support of the Turkic Council’s Heads of States to the World Nomad Games, which was initiated under the umbrella of the Turkic Council. Underlining the active involvement of the Turkic Council Secretariat in the organization and development of the World Nomad Games, which represents the common cultural heritage of the Turkic World, Secretary General stated that the Nomad Games will move forward and its worldwide visibility will increase with the experience and physical resources of Turkey. He also noted that the Secretariat is ready to do its part for the successful organization of the 4th World Nomad Games.
