Secretary General of the Turkic Council Baghdad Amreyev paid an official visit to Kyrgyzstan on February 8, 2019 and met with President of the Kyrgyz Republic H.E. Sooronbay Zheenbekov.
Secretary General B.Amreyev briefed the President S. Zheenbekov on recent activities of Turkic Council and events carring out during the current Chairmanship of Kyrgyzstan in the organization for the period of 2018-2019. Secretary General appreciated the contribution and active participation of Kyrgyzstan in the cooperation process among Turkic Council Member States and expressed his confidence that the interstate relations will reach the highest level during the Chairmanship of the Kyrgyz Republic.
He informed the President about efforts taken by Turkic Council in boosting the economic and commercial ties among countries, highlighting the actions towards establishing economic and financial instruments for enhancing economic cooperation among member countries, namely - Joint Investment Fund and Joint Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Turkic Speaking Countries.
Referring to the decision taken by Heads of States of the Turkic Council during their last Summit in Cholpon–Ata on structural improvement of the Turkic integration bodies and the development of a plan for their restructuring and optimization of their activities, Secretary General notified the President about current works of Secretariat on this matter.
B.Amreyev also stated that “Small and Medium Entrepreneurship” has chosen as the theme of the next 7th Summit of Turkic Summit to be held on 3rd October in Azerbaijan, underling that promotion of SME development, exports and/or investments will directly give impetus to socio-economic development of the Member States.
The President Zheenbekov emphasized its full support and contribution of his country to the activities of Secretariat of the Turkic Council. He mainly underlined the necessity to hold events aimed at improving economic and trade cooperation among the Member States of the Turkic Council, with a special emphasis on possibility of conducting business forums.
In addition, President noted that Kyrgyzstan, during its Chairmanship-in- Office at the Turkic Council plans to hold significant events and is open to new initiatives and project proposals.
President Zheenbekov reiterated his support to the Secretariat of Turkic Council in its efforts to extension relations with non-Member countries and strengthening the cooperation with international organizations, as well as enhancing the visibility of the Council in the world.
Kyrgyz leader wished to Secretary General B.Amreyev success in his future efforts to increase efficiency of the Turkic Council and expressed his confidence that his huge diplomatic experience will help to fruitful realization of the tasks to be implemented by organization.
