Secretary General of the Turkic Council H.E. Baghdad Amreyev received the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Turkmenistan to the Republic of Kazakhstan H.E. Batyr Rejepov on March 25, 2021, in Nur-Sultan.
At the meeting, the Ambassador informed that the President of Turkmenistan, H.E. Gurbanguly Berdymukhamedov, will participate in the upcoming Summit of the Turkic Council which is planned via a video conference on 31 March 2021.
He stated that Ashgabat is interested in the further development of relations between Turkmenistan and fraternal Turkic Speaking countries, both in bilateral and multilateral formats.
B. Rejepov noted that Turkmenistan looks with great optimism at the prospects of cooperation with the Turkic Council and intends to significantly intensify its participation in the activities of the Organization in the coming period.
Secretary General emphasaized that the Member Ststes of the Turkic Council warmly welcome President of Turkmenistan H.E. G. Berdimuhamedov to the Turkic Summit and consider that the participation of the Turkmen leader at the upcoming summit will give an important impetus to multilateral cooperation within the Organization.
B. Amreyev noted that Turkmenistan has always been an integral part of the Turkic World and has significant potential in strengthening cooperation among Turkic Speaking countries. He said that expanding the participation of that fraternal country in various fields of activity of the Turkic Council will significantly enrich the agenda of the Organization as a whole.
Secretary General and Ambassador exchanged views on the program and agenda of the Summit, as well as other issues of mutual interest.
