Secretary General of the Turkic Council Baghdad Amreyev met with the Minister of Culture, Information, Sports and Youth Policy of the Kyrgyz Republic Kairat Imanaliyev on 15 March 2021 in Bishkek.
During the meeting, Secretary General B. Amreyev informed the Minister of the readiness of the Turkic Council to hold various events with the participation of the Kyrgyz Republic in the field of culture, sports and youth.
Secretary General briefed the Minister on the upcoming Informal Summit of the Turkic Council, which will be held on the occasion of the announcement of the city of Turkestan - spiritual capital of the Turkic world and the official Summit of the Turkic Council, which is expected be held in the fall of 2021 in Istanbul.
Baghdad Amreyev noted the progress achieved in plans of the Turkic Council to organize the Forum of Young Entrepreneurs and the Forum on Combating Extremism. He kindly requested Kyrgyz side to take part in the above mentioned activities.
Furthermore, the announcement was made about the launch of the upcoming project of the Turkic Council that is the appointing Goodwill Ambassadors of the Turkic World.
The Minister Kairat Imanaliev noted that the Ministry conducts various events in the field of culture, sport and youth, and assured the Secretary General of the readiness of Kyrgyzstan to support the ongoing and future projects of the Turkic Council.
K.Imanaliev confirmed his participation in the meeting on the level of ministries of the Turkic Council in charge on Information and Media which will be held in Baku in the first decade of April of this year.
Parties discussed the issues related to TURKSOY and the Turkic Culture and Heritage Foundation and emphasized that “culture is our commonality, information is our today, youth is our future and sport is our health”.
Secretary General B.Amreyev underlined the role of Kyrgyzstan as the initiator of the “World Nomad Games” (WNG and Turkic Council has assumed a special responsibility in the organization of the Games in Kyrgyzstan).
Noting that the WNG represents the cultural heritage of all Turkic Speaking States and peoples, B.Amreyev stressed the need for concentration of common efforts for the popularization and sustainability of the Games. This could elevate the Games to a global level through the joint efforts of our Members. He underlined that Kyrgyzstan’s experience is highly important in this process.
The Secretary General also noted that it is advisable to hold the next, Fifth World Nomad Games in other member countries, thus promoting both the Kyrgyz and the common brand of nomadic culture and heritage in the world.
Minister Imanaliyev expressed the appreciation of the Kyrgyz side for the support of the Secretariat to efforts for encouraging the development and promotion of youth and sports in the Member States.
In line with the joint efforts for the organization of 2021 WNG in Turkey, Minister stated the Government of Kyrgyzstan stands ready to contribute to the success of the next Games to be hosted by Turkey in 2021. He also said that Kyrgyz side can organize an Ethno Festival and Ethno Bazar in the framework of the 4th WNG.
In conclusion, the Minister wished the meeting attendees success in further strengthening cooperation within the framework of the Cooperation Council of Turkic-Speaking States.
