Secretary General of the Turkic Council Baghdad Amreyev attended the First Caspian Economic Forum that kicked off on 12 August 2019 with a solemn ceremony under the patronage of the President of Turkmenistan, H.E. Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and attended by Prime Minister of the Republic of Azerbaijan H.E. Novruz Mammadov, Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan H.E. Askar Mamin, Prime Minister of Russian Federation H.E. Dmitry Medvedev, First Deputy Vice President of the Islamic Republic of Iran H.E. Eshaq Jahangiri.
Secretary General B. Amreyev took part as panelist in the thematic session on “Development of Industry in the Caspian Region”. During his address, B. Amreyev gave brief information on the Turkic Council’s recent projects especially in the field of economy and trade. He underlined the significance of friendly relations in the Caspian region, recent integration efforts of the littoral States of the Caspian Sea and expressed his hope for the signing of the Convention on Legal Status of the Caspian Sea to generate new possibilities for the region in various areas.
Touching upon the industrialization efforts in the Turkic Council Member States, Secretary General B. Amreyev emphasized on the contribution of Turkey to industrialization processes in the Turkic Speaking States in energy, construction, mining, manufacturing, textile and many other sectors. He also stressed that Turkic Councils member states have also made significant achievements in the industrialization process.
Secretary General stated that the Turkic Council is dedicated to foster economic stability and create favorable conditions for further enhancing trade and investment, strengthening industrial power of the Member States and the participation of the Turkic Council in the First Caspian Economic Forum is the testimony of its commitment to further deepen cooperation with all regional stakeholders.
On the margins of the event, Secretary General had a number of working meetings.
Within the framework of the Conference, Secretary General also gave an interview to “Miras” Channel of Turkmenistan.
