Secretary General of the Turkic Council, H.E. Baghdad Amreyev came together with the Ambassador of Islamic Republic of Iran to Ankara, H.E. Mohammad Farazmand at the premises of the Turkic Council Secretariat in Istanbul on 14 July 2021.
Touching upon the centuries-old amicable ties between Iran and the Turkic World, Ambassador briefed Secretary General about the current state of bilateral relations of Iran with the Turkic Council Member States.
Secretary General shared with the Ambassador ongoing cooperation among the Member and Observer States within the framework of the Turkic Council in different fields particularly in economy, trade and transport as well as the future perspectives of the Organization.
Secretary General and the Ambassador exchanged views on possible ways to explore avenues of cooperation between the Turkic Council and Iran.
They reaffirmed that there is a huge cooperation potential between Iran sharing strong cultural similarities and the Turkic Council in various fields, and agreed on taking some joint steps towards enhancing the relations in the upcoming period.
Parties also exchanged views on regional and international affairs of mutual interest.
