Secretary General of the Turkic Council, H.E. Mr. Baghdad Amreyev received newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Moldova to Ankara, H.E. Mr. Dmitri Croitor on 7 August 2020 in Istanbul.
The Ambassador briefed the Secretary General on relations between the Republic of Moldova with Turkey, as well as other Turkic Speaking States and existing historically friendly ties with them.
He also gave information on the relations of the Territorial Unit of Gagauzia of the Republic of Moldova with TURKSOY and their intentions to develop relations with other affiliated organizations of the Turkic Council.
The Secretary General congratulated the Ambassador on his new appointment, briefly informed on the activities of the Turkic Council and ongoing process of cooperation among Turkic Council Member States as well as deepening the collaboration in the framework of the Turkic Council.
The Secretary General and the Ambassador discussed the prospects of establishing relations between the Republic of Moldova and the Turkic Cooperation Organizations emphasizing on widening cooperation with Gagauzia.
Parties also exchanged views on regional and international affairs of mutual interest.
