Secretary General of the Turkic Council, H.E. Baghdad Amreyev received the Ambassador of Mongolia, H.E. Bold Ravdan on 25 August 2020 in Istanbul.
Ambassador briefed the Secretary General about the enhancing cooperative relations of Mongolia with the Member States of the Turkic Council and, touching upon the centuries-old amicable ties between Mongolia and the Turkic Speaking States he stated that Mongolian government follows the activities and achievements of the Turkic Council.
Secretary General Amreyev welcomed the Ambassador of the friendly country of Mongolia and briefed him on the organizational structure, main goals, initiatives, activities and future prospects of the Turkic Council.
Secretary General also shared with the Ambassador the ongoing cooperation among the Member and Observer States within the framework of the Turkic Council, and expressed the past and current projects on the agenda of the organization in the field of economy, transport, customs, education as well as youth and sports. He also talked about the prospective zone of closer cooperation and deeper integration that the Turkic Council aims at establishing among its members in its region and beyond.
Secretary General and the Ambassador exchanged views on the prospects of cooperation between the Turkic Council and Mongolia. They reaffirmed that there is a huge cooperation potential between Mongolia sharing strong cultural similarities and the Turkic Council in various fields, and agreed on taking some joint steps towards enhancing the relations in the upcoming period.
Parties also exchanged views on regional and international affairs of mutual interest.
