Secretary General of Turkic Council Baghdad Amreyev paid an official visit to the Kyrgyz Republic on 8 February 2019 and had bilateral meetings with the Minister of Transport and Road of the Kyrgyz Republic Zhanat Beyshenov, President of Chamber of Commerce of the Kyrgyz Republic Marat Sharshekeev, Director of Agency in Charge of Youth and Sport Kanat Amankulov.
At the meeting with Minister of Transport and Road of the Kyrgyz Republic Zhanat Beyshenov, Secretary General briefed about the role of Turkic Council on the promotion of comprehensive cooperation and strengthening transport linkages among the Member States across the Trans-Caspian International East West Middle Transport Corridor. He also stressed that transport is one of the important fields among cooperation areas which is directly affecting to economic relations between the Member States.
Talking about the existing Sister Ports process of the Turkic Council, Secretary General invited the Kyrgyz side to take part at the 3rd Sister Ports meeting will be organized in 2019 in Aktau. All issues for the efficiency of transport operations along the Trans-Caspian Corridor will be tabled in the meeting.
Minister Beyshenov noted ongoing transport infrastructure projects and the role of transport facilitation in increasing trade relations with neighbor countries, which has significantly grown over the past last years. Minister expressed that Kyrgyz side is looking forward to fruitful discussions during the forthcoming meeting of Ministers in charge of transport and working group meeting on transport cooperation to be held on 16-17 April 2019.
Parties also exchanged views on significant regional initiatives in the field of transport and Kyrgyzstan’s prospective inclusion in the mentioned initiatives.
During the meeting with President of Chamber of Commerce of the Kyrgyz Republic Marat Sharshekeev, Secretary General emphasized the need to develop the economic potential of Turkic Council Member States. He informed about works of Secretariat on the establishment of Common integration and Joint investment Funds of Turkic Council, which will render as an effective instrument for encouraging economic and trade cooperation among the Member States, especially focusing on Small-Medium sized Enterprises (SMEs).
In mentioning the ongoing establishment of Joint Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Turkic Speaking Countries, B.Amreyev invited Chamber of Commerce of Kyrgyz Republic to play an active and vital role in supporting the establishment of above-mentioned Chamber to encourage private sector growth and cooperation among the Member States.
President of Chamber of Commerce of the Kyrgyz Republic expressed its satisfaction for above mentioned initiatives and efforts of Turkic Council Secretariat to activities in support of the business relations among the Member States. He underlined the importance of promotion such partnerships through chambers of commerce of Member States and fostering interaction and exchange of chamber best practices. Kyrgyz side also stated the readiness of the Kyrgyz Chamber to continue fruitful cooperation related to the development of B2B relations.
Parties also exchanged views over the future cooperation among Chamber of Commerce of the Member States, as well as discussed the planned upcoming Business Forum that it planned to organize in 2019.
During the talks with Director of Agency in Charge of Youth and Sport Kanat Amankulov, Secretary General stressed the importance of the enhancement of ties among the youth of the Turkic Speaking States. He also briefed about the participation of Kyrgyz youth at the First Turkic Council Young Leaders Forum in Nahkchivan on 25-29 November 2018 and their contribution to its outcome with solid proposals.
Secretary General underlined the special role of Kyrgyzstan as the initiator and founder of the “World Nomad Games” (WNG) that was included in the Summit Declaration and welcomed by all our Presidents. He said that Turkic Council Secretariat has also assumed a special responsibility in the organization of the Games in 2014 and 2016. Noting that WNG represents the cultural heritage of all Turkic Speaking States and peoples, B.Amreyev stressed the need for the simultaneous concentration of common efforts for the popularization and sustainability of the Games. This could elevate the Games to the level of world brand through joint efforts of our Members.
Minister expressed appreciation and support for Secretariat of Turkic Council for encourage the development and promotion of youth and sports in the Member States. In line with joint efforts for the organization of 2020 WNG in Turkey, Minister stated his satisfaction that the next Games will be hosted by Turkey and his Government’s readiness to work closely with Turkey for the successful organization of next 2020 WNG.
Parties agreed to continue further elaboration on the development of cooperation within the youth and sport sectors, through organizing joint events and projects.
