The Ethno-Folklore Festival “Uzgen-Minara-2021” was held in Uzgen, Kyrgyzstan, on 17 September 2021.
The festival was dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the independence of Kyrgyzstan and attended by H.E. Mr. Sadyr Japarov, President of the Kyrgyz Republic, H.E. Baghdad Amreyev, Turkic Council Secretary General, and more than 3,000 people, including representatives of international organizations, experts in the field of restoration and preservation of cultural heritage, as well as folk ensembles and masters of musical and dancing arts.
Opening the event, President of the Kyrgyz Republic H.E. Sadyr Japarov underlined the high significance of preserving the historical and cultural heritage of ancestors in Uzgen complex which is regarded as one of the ancient cities in the Turkic World. The Head of Kyrgyz State assured that his administration will take all necessary measures to get the historical complex “Uzgen” included in the UNESCO World Heritage List until 2025.
Secretary General Baghdad Amreyev in his speech congratulated the Kyrgyz Republic and brotherly Kyrgyz nation for the 30the anniversary of independence and stressed that the Kyrgyz people has managed to establish sovereign state committed to democratic values, human rights and market economy. He noted that Kyrgyzstan makes a significant contribution to bilateral and multilateral cooperation between Turkic Council Member States actively participating in the integration processes in the Turkic World.
Baghdad Amreyev said that he firmly believes that the Kyrgyz Republic together with the fraternal Turkic states will continue to put steps to open a new page in history and strengthen economic, cultural and social ties in the Turkic World.
The Head of the Turkic Council underlined special status of “Uzgen” complex among cultural heritage of the Turkic nations, which must be preserved and delivered to the next generations.
At the end of the event, the performance of national folklore and musical groups as well as exhibition of paintings dedicated to the cultural monuments of Uzgen were presented.
