On the occasion of 25th June Mahdumkulu Firaki Poetry Day, a commemoration ceremony was held at the Mahdumkulu Firaki Memorial located in the Turkmenistan Park in Dikmen, Ankara.
The event was held with the participation of representatives of the corps diplomatique in Ankara including Ambassadors of the Member States of the Turkic Council, government officials from Turkey, academicians and intellectuals and the speeches were delivered describing Firak and his poetry.
In his speech the Ambassador of Turkmenistan to Ankara, H.E. Isankuli Amanliyev, gave information about the specific work carried out to examine the heritage of Mahtumkulu Firaki as one of the leading representatives of classical Turkmen Literature, and to introduce his outstanding work to the whole world.
Deputy Secretary General of the Turkic Council Sultan Raev attended the commemoration ceremony and delivered a speech where he emphasized the unity and togetherness of his intellectual legacy which shows his significance not only for Turkmenistan but also for entire Turkic world.
