The Opening Ceremony of the “Almaty – Youth Capital of the Turkic World” was held on 18 August 2025 in Almaty. The Opening Ceremony was attended by delegations from the Member States and Observers, as well as the Secretariat of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS).

The Ceremony gathered thousands of participants, creating atmosphere that reflects the enthusiasm and unity of the Turkic youth.

On this occasion, the congratulatory message of H.E. Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, was also conveyed to the participants, extending his best wishes for the success of the activities and the fruitful contribution of Almaty as the Youth Capital of the Turkic World in 2025.

H.E. Amb. Kubanychbek Omuraliev, Secretary General of the OTS, highlighted the symbolic transition of the title from Lankaran to Almaty, underscoring the vital role of youth in shaping the future of the Turkic World. He also expressed appreciation to the Kazakh side for their efforts and hospitality, emphasized the importance of the Youth Capital initiative in fostering education, creativity, intercultural dialogue, and unity among young people.

Within the framework of the event the Kazakh side will host the 3rd Multilateral Youth Exchange Program, the Young Leaders and Entrepreneurs Forum and the 4th International Youth Festival Organization of Turkic States.
